Phở places have become ubiquitous in MetroVancouver and Jeem and G. G. Blynn were pleasantly surprised when friends from the John Harris Gallery took us to one such establishment in Nanaimo.Phở Tintin is located in a strip mall somewhere in this Vancouver Island city. On the day of our visit the snow was piled up and much more was on its way, but not before Jim and Sherry made their escape to a more westerly locale.
Very clean, very friendly, very reasonable prices and nice vegetarian food. Also traditional Viet dishes with beef, pork and chicken. Both dishes - noodles with stir fry veggies and vermicelli and spring rolls - were hot, fresh and very good. The service is genuinely friendly and, to be thorough, I checked the washrooms; sparkling clean. We'll be back.
In the running for the best Nanaimo Vietnamese. This is a hidden gem of Nanaimo - I'd suggest trying the Vietnamese Special Sub for the Tin TIn Market next door as well for takeout. They do the best subs in town without question and they have a good selection of Bubble Tea to go with it.
